A downloadable game

⊱ Synopsis ⊰

Some days are easy, while others are not. That was a fact of life, and it was something you had to begrudgingly accept. You wake up that morning with the sun shining in your eyes and, as usual, your housemates making your life more difficult than it needed to be. Still, despite how it felt sometimes, you always had a choice. Even if you barely had enough energy to get out of bed, or if your own mind seemingly wanted you dead, there was something deep inside you that kept you moving forward, even if it was at a slow and steady pace... so, what did you want to do today?

⊱ Developer Notes/Links ⊰

Thank you for checking out this game page! This was actually a VN I worked on for a heuristic study I conducted in the fall semester of 2025 to see if visual novel development could improve depressive symptoms among graduate students (my graduate-level thesis/capstone was based on the therapeutic use of visual novels and interactive storytelling hehe). This is a game that is near and dear to my heart, since it showcases my personal struggles with my diagnosis of major depressive disorder (MDD), and how the symptoms I experience alter the way my brain and mind work sometimes.

If you'd like to support me and the game's development, please follow me on some of my social media pages! My Linktree has all of the websites you can find me on. I will be most active regarding the game's development on my Ko-fiInstagram, and Tumblr, as well as right here on Itch.io!

THANK YOUUU!!! This was the visual novel I worked on for my thesis! Each of the characters is based on the DSM-5 criteria of MDD, and the MC's relationship with each character mirrors my own experiences/thoughts regarding that particular symptom! Since this is a smaller-scale project, and I'm hoping to finish writing it after I graduate, I thought I would go ahead and share it now hehe!

low key how did you finish it so fast

I usually worked on it for 30-40 minutes every night for two months! I wanted the sprites to have a traditional-art feel to them, so I didn't worry about making them clean or polished/made their color schemes monochromatic to lessen the stress of color picking. For the backgrounds, I used photographs I took on my phone and slapped them in a photo art effect app (I didn't want to draw backgrounds lmao). Though, I was only able to complete 2 of the 5 routes, so it's my goal to finish the rest after this semester is over. 😤

Damn dude! That’s hella cool.

Thank you!! I'm a sucker for mixed-media games. 🤭
